DC 705 Dow Corning Silicone fluid

DOW CORNING® 705 diffusion pump fluid is designed to produce ultra high and ultra clean vacuum from 10^-9 torr untrapped, to 10^-11 torr with cold traps or absorption traps. The vapor pressure and backstreaming rate of this fluid is so low that use of traps or refrigeration is unnecessary for some ultrahigh and ultraclean vacuum applications. Other fluids used under the same conditions would have to be trapped to minimize backstreaming. The extremely low vapor pressure of the DOW CORNING 705 fluid enables it to achieve better ultimate vacuum than is possible with hydrocarbon fluids and esters.
