Thermal Evaporation Crucibles

Testbourne Ltd offer various size Crucibles of Quartz, Boron Nitride, Alumina, Graphite, Tantalum, Molybdenum which can be heated by a Baskets and Heaters (Link) or a Shielded Crucible Heaters (Link).

A wide range of low to moderate temperature metals (Pd, Sn, Se, As, In) evaporate well from crucibles. Many users find crucibles to be less prone to failure and more stable than boats. A principal advantage of crucibles is the complete isolation of the evaporant from the heater, eliminating shorting and alloying. Larger capacities, easy loading and improved directional vapor patterns are just a few benefits.

The crucibles listed on this page are designed to fit into our basket and shielded heaters. Custom sizes are available upon request. We also offer Electron Beam Crucibles (Link) compatible with various systems including Telemark, Temescal, Varian etc.

Always remember that selecting the correct crucible heater can be just as important as the crucible itself!
